September 25, 2020
First Circle of Friends has received its Emergency Child Care License. We are now licensed to open for all of our students ages 3, 4, and kindergarten.
We’ll continue with our 4 week Comprehensive Distance Learning plan (CDL), paying close attention to how things are going with other programs offering face-to-face instruction. If possible, we’d like to learn from the challenges and/or triumphs of others.
Tentatively, our first day of face-to-face instruction will be Tuesday, November 3. I will be communicating more details about our reopening plan in the coming days and weeks, but thought you’d want to know where we’re headed. Keep in mind, situations can change at the drop of a hat, so just because we say we WANT or PLAN to do something, doesn’t mean it can actually happen. There are too many forces at play, so all we can do is plan for the best, and prepare for the worst.
Your patience in all of this is greatly appreciated. The decision to begin face-to-face instruction was made by our CE Elders and Pastor Bruce, with my input of course. Throughout October, I plan to stay in contact with area preschools to see what is working and what is not, and learn from their experiences.
Thank you for remembering that none of us, parents or teachers, have ever done anything like this before. There will be mistakes, and multiple opportunities to extend grace toward each other.
